SHOOTING STRATEGY
To move beyond simply food shots, I structured the social content around the unseen energy of the social space—balancing the kitchen’s raw kinetic energy with the restaurant’s concept. Through intentional low-angle framing, natural ambient lighting, and grounded audio, the strategy prioritized sensory texture and human dedication over quick-cut food trends.
I focused on stationary shots at the dining table as well as the movements amongst people, hands, items, and bowls of food.
A PROBLEM, THE SOLUTION
The initial concept called for a series of wide exterior shots to establish neighborhood energy and foot traffic. On the shoot day, NYC street scaffolding and sidewalk congestion obstructed clear angles and diluted the visual appeal of the storefront.
THE SOLUTION
Pivoting on the fly, I shifted the visual strategy indoors. By reframing the shoot around intimate interior coverage, I transformed an on-site logistical hurdle into an immersive look at the dining experience.
